In September 2000 the then nineteen year old Joost Vianen began by exporting flowers to the United Kingdom. From a rental ‘box’ at Flora Holland Rijnsburg, he purchased flowers which he then transported personally in a lorry to his British customers.
Due to the fast and flexible service of Vianen, the demand increased rapidly. The total of trips to England doubled and larger premises was required. The growth continued and the company C.J. Vianen moved several times to larger properties. Meanwhile the workforce had grown, together with the truck fleet. The warehouse was expanded alongside, resulting in a good location with its own docks and a conditioned area for storage and processing of the purchased products.
Moving proved to be an important step. From this location Vianen developed a steady supply of customers in diverse European countries such as Belgium, Germany, Italy and Austria. Meanwhile Vianen has regular customers in the Netherlands too.
